Video: Nigerians Are Truly Talented

Hey guys, i know it has come and tey..lol.

Well, i blame it on the hustle in Lagos and also the challenges involved in being a presenter. But that one no be excuse enough...winks. Well, today i decided to blog about how talented i think Nigerians are. If you ever had doubts about Nigerians and their talent, i guess the story below will clear your doubt. Before i start let me begin with a quote (i don't know who said it but its stuck up in my head)

''Education will never make you wealthy. Education will only give you a platform to express your gifts''
It is good for every child to have access to Education, what you do with this opportunity is then up to you. There is no human who isn't gifted, you just need to discover that thing which makes you happy and work towards it. Over the years, i have learnt that there are ways you can discover your talent and i will share with you. You need to ask yourself these questions in which only you can answer;

1- What is ''that thing'' that makes me smile whenever i do it?
2- What is ''that thing'' that people have told me that am good at?
3- What is also ''that thing'' that people have said jokingly that i do?
There is no way you wont discover your talent if you genuinely answer these questions.

The hashtag #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira has truly made us realize that Nigeria is blessed with so much talent. I love to read books and also historical events. Reading about great artist like Ladi Kwali who was a famous potter made me realize that the talent didn't just start, it started from our forefathers and the most interesting part of it is that, back then they got a lot of assistance from individuals and the government. Today how many people in their heart of hearts will see a Nigeria product go for 20k and be rest assured its of great quality and buy it? e dey hard. We rather spend heavily on imported things than ours...I blame our government. Now let me give you an example of a great talent in Nigeria.

No one knew about Olumide Oresegun until his paintings surfaced online and took over the internet for a while. At first sight, i was drawn to his painting and i guess its because am an art lover. After seeing his hyper-realism paintings of children i was determined to meet him and find out how real they are or if its just another ''bobo'' (lie). His talent has taken him so far that even CNN interviewed him and this is how they described his painting;

''Water droplets slide down the faces of children as they stare directly a what you could easily believe is a camera. They are all painting by Lagos-born Nigerian artist Oresegun Olumide. They hyper-realism created in the oil paintings makes his work seem so life like that it is hard to believe they aren't''.
I finally met up with him and it was a lovely interview. Find the video below. Nigerians truly got talent!!!
