North Korea Executes Defense Chief for disloyalty to Leader Kim Jong Un

North Korea executes the country's defense minister Hyong Yong Chol, 66 years old, after he was accused of treason. Hyon was killed by firing squad from an anti-aircraft gun at a military school in front of hundreds of people in Pyongyang.
His execution came as a result of him expressing his discontent towards leader Kim Jong Un,32 years old and also refusing to obey the leader orders on several occasions. This was made known according to Kim Gwang-lim, chairman of the National Assembly Intelligence Committee.

The timing of Hyon's execution is unclear as report suggests he was killed around Apirl 30. The last time he was seen was on Wednesday April 29 when her attended a performance of the Moranbong Band at the People's Palace of Culture.

However, no single incident was said to have led to Hyon's arrest and execution, but according to Kim Gwang-lim, Hyon was seen dozing off during a meeting organised by leader, Kim Jong Un.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been accused of ordering the executions of as many as 15 top officials so far this year.
In December 2013, North Korean news agency KCNA confirmed that Kim's uncle Jang Song Thaek had been executed for trying to overthrow the state.
