President uhammadu Buhari today requested the approval of the Senate to appoint 15 Special Advisers who will assist him to carry out his functions. The letter was read in the Senate by the Senate President, David Mark.
This will make it Buhari first correspondence to the National Assembly since assuming office on Friday.
However the names of the advisers is still yet unknown.
Earlier, the Senate had congratulated Mr. Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and all the 29 governors who were sworn in on Saturday. In his remarks, Mr. Mark urged the President and all the governors to observe the rule of law as they go about administering the country.
