The Police in Lagos state have released information about the arrest of a woman named Victoria Alaegbu claiming to be the daughter of Obasanjo and demanding money from senator Buruji Kashamu in order to poison her supposed ''father''.
The police said that the lady presented herself as Yetunde Obasanjo and was accompanied by Uwakala who introduced himself as an intelligence officers to the former president, allegedly met the senator in a hotel where the lady introduced herself as one of the Obasanjo's daughter. The two of them urged Kashamu to allow them poison Obasanjo in exchange for some money.
Rather than jump on the opportunity to kill his enemy, the senator who was suspicious of the lady and her accomplice alerted the policemen.
In reaction to this, the media aide to Senator Buruji Kashamu, Mr Austin Onyiokor said that Senator Kashamu has never plotted with anyone to harm a soul.
''It was when he could not stomach all that the point man, Nwakala was telling him on the phone each time he called that he agreed to meet him in the presence of one of the relations of the former president Princess Folashade Omotade, who had been trying to make peace between him and Obasanjo.''
He went further to say;
''It was before the very eyes of Princess Omotade and Obasanjo's aide that the lady and man began to say all manner of things about the former president. They said they could poison Obasanjo since they were close to him.''
It was disclosed that during the investigation, the suspects were taken to the Abeokuta residence of the former president who upon seeing Victoria screamed and asked why she would go to his enemy with the intention of harming him. He then hit her on the head and told the police to jail her for five years because if they did not, God knows how many top Nigerians that would be wasted by them.
Oniyokor then revealed that it was then that Obasanjo believed that Kashamu could be so magnanimous and forgave Kashamu for any grudge he had against him.
