Challenge: What It's Really Like Living on $1 a Day

Is it possible for you as a Nigerian to eat a dollar a day? Personally i doubt it because what can you actually buy for a dollar which is equivalent to 200 naira today in Nigeria, that will satisfy one for a day. Well, Anti- poverty organizations are food daring people to try and eat one dollar a day to know how it feels like. According to statistics, over 1 billion people live on less than 2 dollars a day.

 Popular American actress, Gwyneth Paltrow tried the challenge but was unsuccessful as she admitted that after four days she was tempted and had to order for chicken and fresh vegetables.
Paltrow added that her perspective has been forever altered by how difficult it was to eat wholesome, nutritious food on a dollar per day even for just few days.

The challenge is part of a global campaign  to raise awareness on food poverty. Can you challenge yourself for five days?
