Due to the recent attack on foreigners in South African, a radio station in Zambia today put a ban on playing of South African music.
The Managing Director of QFM Asan Nyama said that the action was in solidarity with Africans who have fallen victims to xenophobic attacks in Durban and Kwazulu-Natal provinces in South Africa. He said this is the first time foreigners are attacked in South Africa and called for the need for Africans to co-exist as brothers and sisters regardless of the country they come from.He later called on the South African government to arrest the situation before more precious lives are lost and bring the perpetrators to book.
So far 5 people have died in the xenophobic attack in South Africa.
