293 Women and Girls Rescued by the Military Undergo Pregnancy and HIV Tests

An intelligence officer in the military has disclosed that the 293 women and girls rescued by the Special Forces during a raid in Sambisa Forest were undergoing a series of tests including pregnancy and HIV in the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The officer also said that seven of the girls had gunshot injuries and out of the 293 ladies, 200 were aged between 13 and 18 which apparently were the age brackets of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram April 14, 2014.

However, according to reports, the military would today commence the investigation of the identities of the girls and women after the tests and treatment to detect if there is any possibility the Chibok girls are part of the rescued women.
