BBC Chief and Wife Recieves Death Threat

The Director General of BBC Tony Hall and his wife are currently being protected after recieving a death threat for sacking one of its controversial top gear staff Jeremy Clarkson.

Tony Hal became a target after taking the final decision to axe Clarkson, the BBC's biggest star from his £I million a year role. He decided not to renew the 54years Top gear contract after an internal investigation found that he had punched producer Oisin Tymon in a 30 seconds physical assault following a prolonged verbal arguement. The argument wa because of a hot meal after a day's filming.

Lord Hall has received a death threat before in 1999 which led him into hiding under police protection then when he was Chief Executive of BBC News.


The police are investigating the death threat to ascertain who sent it.
