The girl who murdered English whom i consider as being brave

If i say Rita Igbinedion, the name might not click fast but if i say Rita of Koko Mansion, a lot of people will remember her. Koko mansion was a reality show organized by Dbanj about 5years ago where a group of girls where packed like sardine together in an apartment and eventually at the end of the show, someone must be crowned the queen of koko mansion.

When the show started, i was confused because the mission and vision of the show was actually not clear to me. I couldn't understand why girls will be parked in a room and then from time to time given task to do and all that. I saw it as a means of exposing girls to perverts out there who inturn because of Dbanj connection might start sleeping with them just like the way i view our beauty pageant of nowadays(story for another day).

In as much as  i didn't understand the mission behind the show, i was moved by a particular girl name Rita Igbinedion popularly known as the girl who murdered English.

To me i enjoyed watching her talk, because even though she couldn't speak the English language properly, her confidence was what struck me the most. She was confident in her gbagaun.
I decided to write about this girl because i am always a good believer of when God says you will make it, it doesn't matter who comes first or who is leading, when its your time, its your time. She didn't emerge the winner , but she is still remembered whenever her name is mentioned.
Even in the midst of all the laughter and embarrassment, people calling her names and all sort, this girl didn't let it bother her. One of the interview she had with a certain newspaper and the response she gave to a particular question struck me the most;

Question: Recently, your grammatical blunder were transferred to twitter with several re-tweets. Don’t you agree that they may be correct in regarding you as a semi-illiterate?
Response: Well, I agree with what anyone says. Even if they say I am a complete illiterate, I agree. At the end of the day what matters is who Rita is going to be not what she was. Is she going to be a good mother? Is she going to be a good role model to the youths? Is she going to be an ideal woman? These are the things that matters the most.
 Wow, thats a brave woman there who didnt allow the shame of not knowing how to speak the English language affect her, rather she looks ahead.

Anyway i think her dream came true as today she is married and doing well with herself.

How many of us even in the midst of all the trials and temptations can be as bold as Rita?

For the purpose of those who didn't see the video of how she gbagaun, here is your opportunity to see it. Enjoy!!!

As for the tweets, I don’t even own a twitter account; maybe it’s just someone playing pranks. People can say whatever they like. I don’t give a f**k....
